The Mourning After
"The Silver Crusader"
Leader of The Flame’s 3rd Army nicknamed “The Silver Crusader” by his troops due to his zealous often radical devotion to the Silver Flame. Charr, a dragonborn hatched in Flamekeep in 962yk. His birth is said to be during the summer solstice when the plane Fernia “The Sea of Fire” is coterminous. Born with a higher temperature than even his red scaled clutch-mates Charr was named after the draconic word for fire. After a fire bombing attack by Cyran gerillas burned his home and killed his family, Charr was sent to a monastery. There he was raised by priests of the Silver Flame. A sign of his destiny came when he came of age. His draconic heritage manifested itself in gouts of silver flame. The ability to breath a silver tinged fire was seen as an act of the divine. The priests filled Charr’s head with stories of his destiny, to purify the world with righteous fire. He became a Silver paladin at age 16 and joined the Thrane army. He quickly rose through the ranks and befriended many like-minded members of the circle of Cardinals. He lead a group of Knights in taking Thaliost in 988yk. He was given a commendation by the Keeper of the Flame for his valor and promoted to command the 3rd Army. His desire to lead from the front lead him into Cyre, where he began a slash and burn campaign across “The Purple Jewel of Galifar” in 990yk. Those who would not repent and pledge fealty to Thrane and the Silver Flame were put to death. Charr believed that to burn was to come as close to his god as any heathen deserved. His army marched across Cyre, burning and pillaging military and civilian targets alike. He was wounded on the day of Mourning by a Cyran sniper and taken from the front. It would seem that his god spared him, as the next day all of those who had not fled Cyre’s borders were dead. After the Treaty of Thronehold General Charr was declared a war criminal for his actions against the people of Cyre. He was excommunicated by the Keeper of the Flame in 998yk, and has since fled Thrane along with a group of his most trusted knights.
